I get asked for tutorials a lot but I don't feel comfortable doing that so here's a compromise instead! =3=

Sorry my pics made for poor examples because they were already finished and I like to merge all my layers..

I'll shush now cause the thing's already so wall of text.

Feel free to ask questions if anything is unclear.

i have CS6 and i cant find the mode:screen thing for the bema of light, and Im doing a video game for my middle school, the main area is a rain forest, so I wanted to try and use the beam of light. My school's version in CS5.5.. But its a really cool tutorial!

Oh yeah any other things you do the color balance I was familiar with but I love the last idea because I love the watercolor look or the sharp end look :)

Better tip for number 1.
Create an empty new layer on normal mode. Go to the "image" tab. In it you'll find "apply image". Click that and it duplicates the viewable image into the empty layer.

Wow. THANK YOU for posting this! I wanted to try some new things, but I'm obviously a noob with photoshop! Might you also have a coloring/painting tutorial? I'd like all the help I can get. ;] Hahaha.

It's weird because I have PS CS3 but I don't have the poster edge options
