[The following blurb is extremely long, opinionated, partly in chinese, and may offend Liu Yi Fei fans.]
For fellow chinese people who might know this classic story: 神鵰俠侶!!!!! I wuv this series ;v; I first watched it in elementary school, and rewatched it time and time again afterwards. I'm slowly reading through the translated novel now. But recently Bassara went and rewatched the whole series, so I went and fell into this giant fandom pit again D:
(Sorry english speakers, you probably won't understand much of this blurb.) Roughly translated --> this is the 2nd novel in a classic Wuxia trilogy, called Return of the Condor Heroes. There's several TV drama series based off of it (and the other 2 books). There's an anime of it too but yuck. Don't watch it.
楊過x小龍女 OTP!! >w<~~~~
My specific fanarts are for the 1995 TVB cantonese drama. I'm a loyal fan of this version D<!! Carmen is the only 小龍女 for me! Carmen > Liu Yi Fei 10000000000x!
I can't stand the 2006 version D: At all D: It's corny and badly-CG-ed and everything has an unnatural glow O_o The scenes, script, everything is BAD. What's this Tarzan-like vine-swinging?? Why are they FLOATING??? Liu Yi Fei cannot act and I swear she's crosseyed >8( Gah. Bleck.
As picky as I am about my 小龍女s, what aggravates me most is that 楊過 LOOKS LIKE A HOBO. Why D8
I hate that they made 小龍女 more emotional too. I like her super-stoicness that slowly slowly warms up. I love Carmen-小龍女!! (especially in her wedding garb!)
I do love the rest of the '95 cast too, as well as the '94 射鵰英雄傳. Love the fighting, love the opening songs *___*
I don't mind whatever bits of the 1983 canto version I saw. I can't say anything about the other mandarin versions cuz I didn't try them due to my craptacular mandarin ----------------
Anyway... these are just crummy doodles drawn while I waited for ROCH episodes to load or when I got tired of reading the novels.
The show is live action, so I can't draw them right I'm sorry 小龍女!! My drawings don't do your beauty justice!! 楊過 too ;_;!
This may be unrelated, but the 1983 version of 射鵰英雄傳 (Legend of the Condor Heroes) is also excellent (in my opinion). If you have some time, I think it would be interesting to take a look at this series (unless you watched it already of course).
wow thanks for writing all that...yeah im chinese and ive heard of the series from my parents....u make them look so cool...i just wanna watch watever series u draw about
Do you know how to find the comic?
