Condor Heroes Doodle Dump by nuriko-kun Condor Heroes Doodle Dump by nuriko-kun
[The following blurb is extremely long, opinionated, partly in chinese, and may offend Liu Yi Fei fans.]

For fellow chinese people who might know this classic story: 神鵰俠侶!!!!! I wuv this series ;v; I first watched it in elementary school, and rewatched it time and time again afterwards. I'm slowly reading through the translated novel now. But recently Bassara went and rewatched the whole series, so I went and fell into this giant fandom pit again D:

(Sorry english speakers, you probably won't understand much of this blurb.)
Roughly translated --> this is the 2nd novel in a classic Wuxia trilogy, called Return of the Condor Heroes. There's several TV drama series based off of it (and the other 2 books). There's an anime of it too but yuck. Don't watch it.

楊過x小龍女 OTP!! >w<~~~~

My specific fanarts are for the 1995 TVB cantonese drama. I'm a loyal fan of this version D<!! Carmen is the only 小龍女 for me! Carmen > Liu Yi Fei 10000000000x!

I can't stand the 2006 version D: At all D: It's corny and badly-CG-ed and everything has an unnatural glow O_o The scenes, script, everything is BAD. What's this Tarzan-like vine-swinging?? Why are they FLOATING???
Liu Yi Fei cannot act and I swear she's crosseyed >8( Gah. Bleck.

As picky as I am about my 小龍女s, what aggravates me most is that 楊過 LOOKS LIKE A HOBO. Why D8

I hate that they made 小龍女 more emotional too. I like her super-stoicness that slowly slowly warms up. I love Carmen-小龍女!! (especially in her wedding garb!)

I do love the rest of the '95 cast too, as well as the '94 射鵰英雄傳. Love the fighting, love the opening songs *___*

I don't mind whatever bits of the 1983 canto version I saw. I can't say anything about the other mandarin versions cuz I didn't try them due to my craptacular mandarin :(
----------------

Anyway... these are just crummy doodles drawn while I waited for ROCH episodes to load or when I got tired of reading the novels.

The show is live action, so I can't draw them right :(
I'm sorry 小龍女!! My drawings don't do your beauty justice!! 楊過 too ;_;!

The anime is still ok ok to me, but the one who did the animations makes this anime really bad. I think is Jade Animation if I'm not mistaken. And by the way, I like your drawing style, they are looked so adorable.

Carmen Leeee <3
She is so pretty and is one of my favourite actors. :3
The first drama I watched starring her was Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils (天龍八部). xD
I'm happy to see another fan of these dramas! :D

Ooo how is 天龍八部? I keep meaning to watch it but never put in the effort to find it online.

Surprisingly, the 96 TVB version is kinda hard to find online haha. For me at least. :/ (Not a fan of the mainland China version, despite Jimmy Lin starring in it)
I think it was pretty well casted overall (my favourites being Benny Chan and Carmen Lee) xD
The music throughout the drama was also pretty nice.
It has a good balance between romance and adventure and a fair bit of humour, although I personally thought the fighting scenes could've been coordinated better. xD

Soo, dunno if my spiel has made you anymore inclined to watch the series haha, but if you do I hope you enjoy it! :)

This may be unrelated, but the 1983 version of 射鵰英雄傳 (Legend of the Condor Heroes) is also excellent (in my opinion). If you have some time, I think it would be interesting to take a look at this series (unless you watched it already of course).

I've watched the adaptations of all 3 books. And I really loved them!

Now, I've been wanting to read the novels. I searched for them at our school library - even the Asian Center library - but there were no copies.

Uhm, I need translated ones since I can't read Chinese.

HOLY SHIT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR SUCH A LONG TIME.

I watched the Flight of the... Er. Return of the...? Condor series when I was ten or so. It was AMAZING. I've always been looking for other people who have seen it, I thought I was crazy remembering something that even my Chinese friends did not. ;A;

I love you XDDDD

Umm, I watched '94 射鵰英雄傳 on tudou.com. I remember you gotta turn off either the left or right side of your speakers to get either cantonese or mandarin.

It's the right in the novel and the left in the '95 drama..I think. I guess the actor is right handed and it'd be hard to do stuff with his left =\?

Something about the flow of the story makes it more enjoyable ;) Oh gosh, I loved Athena so so so much. After I watched Legend I used to go around and watch everything that she ever made (so obsessed) Too bad she dropped off the radar after a while...

I tried looking for the series in shops, but they hardly carry it now, and those who do literally charge an arm and a leg :(

Do you watch other things too or is it just this series?

Haha yeah D: I found my copy off some obscure foreign website AND it costed an arm and a leg =.=

Um..the only other series I remember enjoying a lot is an adaptation of "The Smiling, Proud Wanderer" (siu ngo gong wu). It was Mandarin, but dubbed to Canto. Can't remember anything else D:
I don't have a tv now, much less the chinese channel, so that makes it hard to watch new things. And I'm too lazy to try new things online without knowing if they're good. If you have any recommendations I'm all ears 8D

I heard that series was good too but I never got the chance to watch it :( I should try harder to get time to watch it.

I really just watch stuff online now too but I also don't have the patience to wait for it to load. I did watch quite a few though so if you have a preference (cop, ancient time, office) I can probably recommend some :P

I don't remember exactly all the ones I've watched over all these years but I do remember liking "Treasure Venture" and liking it. It's originally mandarin but it was dubbed to cantonese when I was watching it on tv. There's also the third story in the Condor series, "Heavenly Sword and the Dragon-Slaying Sabre" but honestly I don't remember watching it :( I bet there are more I'm completely forgetting but those are the ones that stand out the most. I'll see if I can remember anymore...

Oh my god. I loved this series. ESPECIALLY the '94 '95 versions. I'm more of a fan of the first story though D: *shot* most people like the second one more. I actually had some crazy fangirl crushes on the actresses. Finally someone else that knows what I'm talking about! So hard to find anyone who knows the stories, let alone appreciates them :O I <3 this!

I"ve got the chinese version of condor herores and 射雕英雄传 and 倚天屠龍記. I absolutely adooore the tv adaptions as well, maybe for me I personally quite liked the one with Liu Yi Fei mayb cuz I've only really seen that adaptation.

Still the books kick ass no matter how many times I read it and the action scenes!!!!
