Use of my art:
You may share/repost my art on other sites as long as it's non-commercial and accompanied by a link back to my page. Personal use (i.e. icons, headers, blog layouts etc) are fine too with credit and link. Please don't sell or edit my stuff, especially please do not make "bases" or "renders" with them.

Hallooo!!! ( ⊙ω⊙)ノ

My friend Kahira recently got a magical machine that can make iPhone/iPad cases and mousepads and more. She's been making some of my art into really cool stuff! ( ˘//////˘ ) like this:

woooaaah (⊙◒⊙)✧

If you might be interested in something, please take a look at her shop here: Bloomiville on Etsy

She can do totally custom orders! So if there's a drawing of mine you'd like that isn't listed in the store, feel free to message me [which image, what product type] and I'll see if my file is hi-res enough for it (°ω°)b

I don't have a lot of recent art on dA but you can see a lot of newer HxH/Haikyuu/Magi/Kagepro fanarts on my tumblr here. Most of my pics there are doable as any product.

P.S. If you are going to Anime Expo next week, you can pick up at her booth there and save on shipping, or drop by and see live samples before placing an order.
(P.P.S. I won't be there myself ˘˘)
P.P.P.S. She's working with a few other really amazing artists and Kahira's own art is super adorable so please check those out too!! The links are at the side of her etsy shop.

Thank you for looking!!!!! Here is a soaking wet Nishinoya (>vo)b

PPPPPPPPPPP.S. I printed a batch of 5x7 postcards last week. I forgot to announce on dA so many are sold out already but there's a few left from Magi, Hunter, Gintama, Titan - available here. Will reprint in a month-ish.
Thanks thanks thanks! ><

This may seem an odd question...you got any tips on how to make linework feel "intentional"?
I'm not sure if you ever experienced this, but when I paint the colors appear as if they aren't part of the linework (almost like they are trying to pop out of the lines) I'm not sure if I'm going too dark or making the lines too thick.
Any pointers?

Umm, it could be a lot of different things and A few things people do are:
- add color to parts or all of the lineart
- varying the weight of the lines (thicker in places, thinner in others)
I'd also suggest browsing other people's art to see what they do differently from you, so you can get ideas to try new techniques for yourself. Ultimately it's a subjective matter so you need to experiment on your own and see what works for you.
Hope that helps a bit!

Well I have yet to color my lineworks at all, so I think I'll try that first. And now that I think about it I need to brush up on my color theory. I know about complementary colors creating contrast but that's about it. I'm still not sure how to add proper accenting colors or how to evoke moods with colors other than the rigid "warm v cool".
This will require some studying and paying more close attention.
Thanks for the Food for Thought (has anyone done that yet...a brain eating titled food for thought...I'm sure someone has to have done it)

Nuriko ;-;...

You drew this right?: i45.servimg.com/u/f45/14/35/48…

Is it your oc? if so... I was wondering if I could use him in my own future arts and such :c... I love this picture so much, I found him in google to use for a gaia roleplay I made. But I want to actually have him in art and such. If not, may I use the idea of him and make my own?

And if you don't own the character idea, who does?

Hi there, yes that's my art and my character.
You're free to draw inspiration from the design but obviously I would not want you to simply take him/his design and use it as your own.

Oh no, I wouldn't use it as my own. If it helps, I can put your deviantart link in small print under each drawing with him, stating that he is not my character.

I was hoping to use him as he's drawn there, and not change anything, but if that makes you uncomfortable, even with a link, I can just create my own oc, still add the link, and say it's inspired by you?

If it's just a "he looks like this image (link)" then that would be ok.

'Ey yo Nuri since you got me into Riyria I feel obliged to inform you that the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss is a treasure trove of wonders suggested as similar to Riyria and you should pick it up if you have the chance.

I also may or may not be eager to see any fanart of the amazing main character you would produce.

Just sayin'

omg Nuri, I feel weird typing this all out and everything but oh well. You're so inspiring. I went to your tutorial folder (looooove your coloring) and found your art through the years meme. At the end you mentioned how you wished you had started sooner. I did the math and that means you got serious about your art around age 18, the age I am now starting myself.

Something that I can only describe as happiness and relief washed over me, and maybe even some confidence. I've always wanted to draw but never could. I've been afraid of not being good enough. My friends have always been way better than me, and when I did try they'd kinda be like, 'why are you trying when we're so good and can do it for you...?' Or having my parents wish I had other 'practical' hobbies besides art. I've started college as a hopeful graphic design (preferably illustration) major and I'm kinda flailing through my classes kinda keeping up with the pack. It's a big step for someone like me. I'm used to doing nothing for myself because of my fear of failure and disappointing others.

And now seeing where you are now and all, idk, makes me feel like it's not too late for me. I've been reaaally struggling with that idea. I feel inspired to try drawing people and landscapes and other things now, so thank you! It's people like you that make me love art and want to make a living with it. *Maybe* someday I'd be able to inspire people with out realizing it, like you have. You totally made my day. Thanks so much for your art and for being you!

Wow thank you so much....!!! I don't even know what to say (/ o \) but 18 is definitely not too old!! As long as you love what you're doing and constantly strive to improve and learn new things, I think those are way more important than age. Best of luck to you >o<)/
